The community of St Justin Martyr Parish congratulates you and your fiance on you forthcoming marriage. We pray, hope and trust that the occasion of you wedding will be one of joy and happiness, providing you with lasting treasure of memories.
Marriage in the Roman Catholic Church is more that a mere contract between husband and wife, or between two families. Marriage Is A Sacrament. What God has joined can never be dissolved. The Church's primary concern is to help you prepare yourselves and your relationship with your future together. The wedding ceremony, while important, must always take second place in your relationship. This period of your engagement will be a time of serious and thoughtful preparation for marriage which is the sharing of your complete selves with one another in God's convenant for a lifetime.
Please contact us as soon as you become engaged. There is at least a 6 month marriage preparation period. Marriage preparation includes paperwork, a marriage class, a FOCCUS assessment and wedding ceremony planning. You will asked to provide newly issued baptismal certificates. Contact your church of baptism as soon as possible. If may take a few weeks to obtain your baptismal certificate.
