(Note: Between two baptized Christians, Marriage is considered a Sacrament. Because of their sacredness the rightful place for the conferral of sacraments is in a Catholic Church. The presence of Catholic clergy at a marriage ceremony is required for validity in the Catholic Church. In cases where a Catholic is marrying a non-Catholic and if there is good reason to marry outside of a Catholic Church, a Bishop may grant permission for a Catholic to exchange vows in another sacred place. Secular wedding venues while often very beautiful are not sacred places.
